Infrastructure Engineer
Keep the platform running and scaling. Databases, caching, deployments, and the plumbing that makes it all work.
About the role
LOQATE runs across multiple Go services handling real-time telemetry from GPS devices worldwide. The infrastructure includes PostgreSQL for persistence, Redis for caching and real-time state, Cloudflare R2 for cold storage, and Docker for deployments. You'd be responsible for keeping it all reliable, observable, and scalable as we grow.
What you'll do
- —Manage and optimise PostgreSQL databases and Redis instances
- —Own deployment pipelines and container orchestration
- —Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability across services
- —Plan and execute infrastructure scaling as traffic grows
- —Work with backend engineers on service architecture and reliability
What we're looking for
- —Experience managing production infrastructure at scale
- —Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning
- —Comfortable with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation
- —Familiarity with Redis and caching strategies
- —Calm under pressure - you'll be involved in incident response
Bonus points
- —Experience with Cloudflare Workers, R2, or similar edge infrastructure
- —Familiarity with Go services and gRPC
- —Background in high-throughput data systems or IoT infrastructure
